Sonata Systems produces creative digital content with three core services: video production, multimedia post-production and web technology consulting.    Our services are comprehensive, moving projects from pre-production through the editing process, delivering quality material that exceeds client expectations.   Commissions originate from a wide range of sources, including Fortune 500 corporations, smaller businesses and personal projects.   Our portfolio includes extraordinary artists and artisans like Masakazu Ito and Larry Breslin.  
Video Production Services
Our digital video productions include short films, documentaries, commercials, corporate, sporting and artistic events, weddings, family reunions, genealogies and other important personal occasions.   We work closely with clients to meet every goal, to insure a final product that embodies the intended theme fully.   Our material is recorded artistically using high-quality cameras.   We deliver attractive widescreen material shot in a cinematic manner, creating the warm look of film.   For prints and companion stills, many clients also use of our high-resolution digital photography service.   Our graphic designs, photography, cover art and DVD menus are exceptional.  

Our studio shoots with professional equipment, including Canon XL2 cameras with extensive lens options.   We achieve cinematic depth-of-field and prevent unwanted lens flare using the Redrock M2 35mm lens system and microMattebox.   Recording modes include standard (4:3) and wide (16:9) aspect footage shot in native 24p, 30p or 60i.   Sound engineering is critical; we stock high-fidelity Sennheiser stereo, wireless and hand-held microphones to insure superb sound quality.   For just the right ambience, locations are lit using Altman Soft-Lite with egg crate focusing and a large collection of filters.  
Post-Production Services
Our post services are comprehensive, delivering compelling CD, DVD and web content from the editing process.   We have experience editing several forms, including short subjects, commercial television spots, infomercials and documentaries.  

Our editing studio uses the latest post-production technologies. We target any destination in our multimedia studio, from web distribution to full DVD and CD authoring, including high-volume duplication services.   Editing is performed using Apple Final Cut Studio and Adobe Creative Studio, both highly integrated suites that support every aspect of multimedia authoring.   We render with the latest Apple Quad-Core workstations, greatly increasing productivity during post-production.   Final DVD and CD masters can be duplicated in large quantities using our Primea Bravo automated printing service.  

Besides producing new content, our studio also transfers old film stock and audio tapes to digital format, including full mixing and restoration capabilities.   We convert 8 and 16mm film to digital form, with optional restoration and sound editing.   VHS tape transfer to DVD is also available, including zone conversions between PAL and NTSC.   We also provide extensive audio tape engineering, including reel-to-reel, DAT, 8-track, cassette and LP conversion to numerous digital formats.

Our professional web consulting service sets us apart.   We craft attractive websites with optional e-commerce capability, taking projects from inception to completion, publishing the final product on the web.   With sixteen years of technology industry experience, our Java/J2EE consulting practice is comprehensive.   Every website reflects each client's uniqueness, meeting their objectives through close collaboration.   We deliver consistent quality, from initial design through final implementation, including requirements definition, user interface and graphic design, middle-tier web services and database persistence components.
